305-350 swap (oil press.switch...help asap

well im just about done with the swap and all is good but i cant find a oil press. switch to work with the 1976 350 block i tryed the one for the 88 305 and wont bolt on can you tell me if a 1976 oil sender will wire up right?with the 88 wire's the trouble i'm having is it wont bolt on the block thanks guy's

I had no trouble connect my 1978 350 to my 83 wiring.

that's caus they changed the size of the sending unit in 1988 just my luck

What do you mean changed the size? Size of what? Wheres your sending unit, by the oil filter?

the part that bolts in the block changed size my 88 unit will not bolt on it's to big... yes by the oil filter

Get an adapter. Both should be pipe thread. If I had to guess, I'd say your old block probably has an adapter fitting in it already. I think the sender is 1/8"NPT and the block is 1/4"NPT. Any decent parts store or hardware store should have it.

Well I am pretty sure the one on his car is a 2 wire deal that does more than send the oil pressure reading to the gauge in the car. A 76 sender isnt going to be like that, and quite probably is the small thread as well. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with using an adapter.

and an other thing the two star head bolts that go on the bottom of the power stering brace that bolt to the block there is no holes there like on the 88 block.

what knock sensor should i use?can i use a 1988 350 or the 305 if so would my computer have a conflict?

Since knock signature is primarily a function of bore size, use the 350's knock sensor in a 350.
