Engine won't crank no headlights
I'm still trying to figure out on posting on a thread on this site. I have a question. I swap my engine 350 out of a 85 chevy caprice and put a small block 305 in. Now nothing is cranking nor is their any power. Can you provide me some suggestions on what may be the problem. Battery is new alternator is new ..

Do did you test to see if you have power to the starter? Did you check the wiring to the fuse panel? Are your connections tight? Something isn't connected right.

You know that you need three things - Fuel, Air, and Fire.
Do you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn the key? (do your lights work, do all other electronics work?)
Have you checked to make sure you're getting fire to the distributor? (and then move to the spark plug wires)
Assuming it has plenty of unrestricted air flow.
These cars are pretty simple, you just have to be methodical in your troubleshooting.

Make sure the fusible links are hooked up at the starter, and that they are good (undamaged). Should be at least 2 wires that go on the same post with the battery cable. Those feed power to the entire car.
