Drop in crate motor for 91 5.7 TPI
Drop in crate motor for 91 5.7 TPI
Hello, I had the misfortune of having my 91 Formula 5.7 TPI develop a crack in the engine block. Is there a totally stock crate motor that I can buy that does not require any modification? Trying to keep the cost down as much of possible and get back on the road. Thank you very much for your help!

It seems like this might be the only direct replacement available - anyone know if I'm on the right track?

That sucks. If you are fairly handy, grab a 96 gm truck 5.7 shortblock and swap it in..

Sadly I'm not at all handy, so I'm looking for as close to a direct replacement as I can get to save on the installation costs. Thanks though!

Yes, the L31 is a good choice. Better heads than what you have.
The reman ATK would probably be fine as well.
