LS swap oil filter relocation

Hey guys was wondering where a good spot would be to relocate my oil filter?? I'm using this kit from speedway has all the fittings and plugs plus 6 feet of hose. Could I get away with drilling a couple holes and using self tapping screws to hold the adapter to frame or something?? All opinions welcome. Thanks in advance

Mount it where it will be easy to get to, and won't make a huge mess every time you change the filter. Additionally, I wouldn't trust mounting such a critical component with self-tapping screws; use bolts, lock washers and nuts instead.

Of course, it should go without saying to make certain to route the lines away from exhaust components as well as steering and suspension parts.

I'm curious why do you need to relocate the filter? I can't think of a reason unless you are running a dry sump or external oil cooler that uses the stock location as the attachment. You also may want to consider not mounting it higher than the oil pump to avoid strain on the pump.

It's a turbo build. He probably wants a larger than stock filter, or the pan has large kick outs.

It's a bigger fabricated steel pan that uses -10 an fittings for oil in and out

Yep it's a turbo build. The oil adapter has 2 filtered 1/8" npt outputs on it
