5.3 Swap help?
Hello, my name is Connor. I have an ‘89 Camaro RS. Had a 305/700R4 pulled from it and im getting into an LS swap. I was told i could do a 5.3 ls from a silverado with a 4l60E but it HAD to be a 2WD 4L60E. The only transmissions that are 2WD are from S10’s but i was told beware the S10 because the bolts dont match or need an adapter? Or does the 4.8 vortec 4l60E work? I just want this 5.3 in my car without big problems.

The S truck (60° 6-cyl) will not bolt up to a V8.
The 5.3 and 4.8 are virtually identical motors. The block is the same. The transmissions are identical. So yes, you can use a 4L60E from a 4.8 truck behind a 5.3 motor.
