Basic Clutch/Flywheel Install Help

Thanks for any help...

1) Can I re-use flywheel bolts without any worry?

2) What is the torque spec on the fly wheel bolts?

3) Can I use regular grade 8 bolts to bolt my clutch to the flywheel?

4) What is the torque spec on the clutch to flywheel bolts?

5) How do I torque the flywheel bolts down without the engine turning? I was going to hold the crank by the bolt on the front but recently read a bunch of people have stripped those out by turning the crank...how much are those flywheel holders?

Thanks.

Yes.

Yes, but I would buy a set, I suspect one or two may have different size shoulders on the bolt. Dorman makes a kit.

4) What is the torque spec on the clutch to flywheel bolts?

Not positive, but its not a whole lot.

Chiltons says 50 ft-lbs for the V6 and 60 ft-lbs for the V8.

I'd try to check that number, seems to me its not anywhere near that much. 60 ft-lbs is bound to break the bolt.

I've always just used the tight guideline, get tehm tight and go on to the next step.
BTW, tight for me is around 40 ft-lbs.
