Hood clearance problems...
Anyone one else come damn close to not being able to have an air cleaner under the hood of a stock Iroc. Mine just BARELY fits, II'm talking thousandths of an inch. It will probably rub when driving.

I have the Torker II intake on, and it is the stock 5 speed, haven't had a chance to really test it, and I did have to change the flywheel.

The shorter air cleaners look like crap.
The flywheel I got was off of... I don't know. I'm not sure exactle, but it's alot beefier in size, but a bit smaller diameter, this is so the starter can fit properly, oh and the back of the crank bolt configuration to the flywheel is different on older engines. I'm guessing it's just a manual flywheel from a pre-87 block, could be from a 4-speed I don't know, sorry...

What about using a drop base air cleaner im about to put a new 350 in my iroc and i just bought a RPM performer intake for it and i was wondering if a drop base air cleaner would fit under the hood...........
it should work just fine all i need is like a 1/2 inch and thats all but iam not going to use one cause i dont like how they cover up the carb. so as long as its anything more then a 1/2 drop base you will be fine

It's all in the air cleaner you use.
