What you said, plus tune-up stuff like spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor (unless these things are fairly new). Preventive maintenance items: Antifreeze, oil, filters. Things that will need replacing sooner or later like belt(s), water pump, starter, thermostat. Obviously, gaskets for carb, headers, distributor, other stuff not now on the engine that's going in. Have radiator flushed & pressure checked while the engine's out.
Got any money left? Hope so, because there's always something you need to run and get while you're in the middle of the job...

how do you check the tranny? the tranny is 4 years old and was rebuilt with a shift kit..that damn thing will still cherp it into 2nd
....the distributor cap is new, plugs are new enough...radiator has been checked before his winter....is there something that goes inbetween the tranny and the engine gasket wise??
thanks for the replys

Nope no gasket.....I think I would service the tranny while you are doing the swap, fluid, filter... check mounts.....may as well do it while you are dirty...

What do you have for exhaust and air cleaner? The LG4 stuff will absolutely choke a 300 HP 350.
BTW, I went from 155 to 300+ HP as well. Just took a different route.

well ijust ordered some hedman headers and y pipe lastnight. Im gonna make my own dual snorkle intake, plus it has the cowl induction. im not sure if the cat back is stock or not. Seeing how the car is 19yrs old, i dont think its stock. but within a month of putting the engine in, im gonna get a hooker cat back.

The Hooker cat back is an awsome choice! I just put mine on a few weeks ago, and it sounds great, especially comin from a 305! Its not real loud at idle, but when you get on it, youll turn some heads.:hail:
