If your A/C evaporator box is still there, then they engine bay is too narrow to let it fall down in there with headers on.
Lay the headers in the engine bay disconnected from the Y-pipe or exhaust, drop the motor in, and before it's all the way down while it's still a little easier to get to the bolts, put them on the motor.

Wasn't the case for me with the Hooker Super Comp shorties. I went slow, must have walked from fender to fender a couple of dozen times during the process, but it went in with no special fanangling (I did have a tilt sling, and was only installing the engine - tranny was already in the car).
I wouldn't trade doing it the way I did for bolting them in after the engine was in for anything - if the engine is already out, that is.

the tranny is stayin in the car, so i dont have to worry about that at all. im gonna try to drop the engine in with the headers on it, if i have problems, i can always take them off.
