Chevy 350 in my Pontiac

I currently have a 305 TPI in my 89 Formula and I want to go larger. The other day I was talking to my uncle about it and he said that he would give me a 350 that he built a few years ago.

He bored it 20 over and put aluminumn pistons and an RV cam and all the other obveous things in a rebuild.

Anyways its a 1988 block..but its a chevy. ...What I want to know is what modifications would I have to make to put the TPI that is on my 305 onto the 350. (remember chevy and pontiac).

Im thinkning, hopefully just a new intake.. and maybe need to port the plenum?? I really dont need to worry about any emissions bull because im here in wonderful MICHIGAN :] where we are blessed with not having to get our cars inspected(knock on wood).

Well that 305 under the hood is already a Chevy engine. Pontiac hasnt used Pontiac engines since the late 70s in their cars. The TPI swap from 305 to 350 is just a matter of changin your injectors to match the bigger engine. Thats it. If the 350 is pre 85 then it is a 2 piece rear main seal and you're gonna need a flexplate/flywheel from those years because the post 86 and pre 85 cranks arent the same bolt pattern.

yup, last car to use a pontiac motor , not counting the 2.5, were the 81 firebirds using the 301 (what an embarassment )

Right on the money and the bolt up shouldnt be a problem. It will be an easy swap.

And the 301 was a pontiac motor
