I need some help from anyone thats swapped a big block in a 3rdgen. Im going to be doing this with my project car and basically i need to know everything thats involved in it. Thanks.

 

i think ill say it before someone else will. SEARCH you will find tons of stuff on swappin in a bbc into our cars. ive also asked this before and it will be alot of work and whatnot. so i guess ur best bet right now is try and search first. good luck

 

Do a search and see what you can learn from that. I will say that the only significant problem is exhaust. You'll find that most achived messages focus on exhaust.

 

It all depends on how much you want to do with it. As a daily driver it can be a very simple bolt-in with cast iron exhaust manifolds. Building a 500+ hp engine needs more than just an engine swap.

There are a couple of clearance issues depending on what you use. Things like wiper motors getting in the way of tall valve covers etc.

As everyone else has mentioned so far, do a search in the archive. There has to be at least 100 messages dealing with big block swaps already. We don't like answering the same questions over and over.
