Small meeting in Poland :-)

Hello

Last weekend we had a small Fbody meeting , here in Poland.
There were 5 cars: My `89 Formula 305 TBI , `88 Trans Am 5,0 TPI manual 5 speed, `92 Camaro Z28 5,0 TPI , and two Trans Am`s GT`s from `93-94.
On Saturday we went on some drag racing and burnout. I had three passes , two with `88 T/A and one with `92 Z28 I managed to win them all , Long live the TBI
The 4th gens duked it out three times and red GT was always the winner.

My car is on the far left.

Also there`s my little red Sophie in the background.

Hello!

Yes we have a small national Fbody fan club here. About 30 cars.

The fuel... ,well just don`t ask..... The prices are horrible almost one dollar for one liter and the fuel quality is poor, thus our cars are slower than in US.

We were racing on street, but we had a G-tech meter and I clocked 16 seconds on quarter not an impressive number but G-tech is not accurate enough.
The 4th gens had 14,5 secs.

Another pic

Mate, our fuel is $1.23 or something per litre~!!! It is a true love when you start paying that sort of money! That Z28 looks particularly mean!

Cheers

I noticed two of the cars have no front license plate. Was it removed for the photos or is it legal to drive without a front plate in Poland?

I don't know about the legality of it in Poland, but over here, despite it being illegal, several members of my local group run without front plates.

Yep it`s illegal, but they drive without front license plates. Till they are caught.... ........ which sometimes occurs.

Hello to all oversea's, I was just cruising the boards and ran across this post. The question I have for you guys is how difficult is it to get a thirdgen Camaro in your parts of the world? Are they scarce or pretty common? Anyways, nice rides!

Here's a few pics of mine. I've run a best of 11.5 on the g-tech but actual track times are probably closer to 11.8 - 12.0.

On last weekend we had a National US Car MEET. Here`s a pic -one of my races. My Formula is on the left versus 1991 Firebird with 5,0 TBI. I`m quite pleased with my car`s performance. I haven`t lost a race since half a year

I`m planning on switching to TPI , will it boost my other mods ( see sig) or will it give me the same horsepower as is the difference between 5,0 TBI and 5,0 TPI?

Best regards
Marcin

Wow that is opne badass loking black Camaro! Your times are awesome, whis I had the same.
As for Camaro they are quite rare about 100 thirdgens for a whole country I assume. Parts have to be shipped from USA or Germany , the duty kills us Ebay is also nice source for parts. I bought my TPI ECM via Ebay.

can't realy grumble, there is an excelent parts supply here, and estimates sugest thet the numbers of thirdgens in England are well over 1000. at any large gathering you will see several.

Tax is rather rude to us, as well, just about everything is 50% more expensive, everything you pay 1$ for is about 1 pound here.

oh yes, it is illegal to run whitout front plate. but it's not the only thing illegal in this country. i don't care
most parts you can get in few 'usa autoparts' shop, but usually they are more expensive than in USA. they have horrible prices because there is no competiton in this field.

yes there is a big difference between TBI and TPI TBI has about 170 horsepower and TPI has i believe 220? and the torque numbers have a significant difference to... depending on if you keep your original 305 block or go with a 350

one of the best features of American cars is that anywhere in Europe, the fuel garde is at least eaqual to the U.S. over here we only have 95 or 98 ocatne fuel.

its expensive, but its good!!!
