Where to get urethane suspension bushes in the UK
Hi all.
Has anyone bought any suspension bushes in the UK that are urethane? I am wanting some red ones for the front and rear suspension and it would be nice-just once in a while-to buy something from this country!! Yes, I know I can get them over the internet very quickly, but my camaros are built with bits that have been flown in from the States.
Just once it would be nice to be patriotic for a change? Hmmm, patriotic and owning 2 american cars?
Andy.

LOL! Hi Andy, how's it going? Try Real Steel 01895 440505, I know they do some kits for the thirdgens. By being patriotic all we do is pay for someone elses time
I have noticed by rule of thumb that whatever the price is in the States we pay for in £'s. The 0.4 in conversion is lost on the way....
You going to the CA NAts on Sunday, weather permitting?
Cheers,
Felix

Andy,
I believe USAutomotive stock them, but be sure you realy want them, i fitted an Energy Suspension tranny mount to my car, and it caused loads of vvvvvvvibration.
(took it off after two weeks, and fitted a stock one)

Hi Phil and Felix.
Thanks for the responses guys.
Unfortunately, I cannot go to the Nationals on Sunday. That avenue of pleasure has been closed off already. My Wife at work, 2 kids and no one to look after them. Trying to fit them and their necessary accessories (i.e. buggy etc) in a Camaro is way beyond the impossible. Just the thought of a 5 month old and a 5 year old in a car for 2 hours (x2) makes me shudder. In fact, we will be doing only the local shows this year, and possibly next also! Luckily, the Black RS is not up to any where near show standard yet anyway. It still needs TPI fitting (completely fed up of carburettors now) and a paint job. Luckily the clutch release bearing has now been replaced and everything is quiet again (against the opinions of the garage who supplied it).
Phil.
Thanks for the advice on the bushes. The Red Camaro is awaiting these suspension bushes so it all can go back together. At the mo it has red urethane engine mounts and a tranny mount. So I am going for these bushes all the way round no matter what! Since this car is a show car in every sense of the word (i.e everything chrome plated), I don't think it will matter too much if there is a vibration or two. I may change them back if I sell it in the future though.
I checked the records on this car. I bought it in 1994 white, and it has done roughly 600 miles since that date! And it is now red. 600 miles in 9 years. Doesn't cost much to run though! I am dying to fit the air suspension to this car this summer!!!
Thanks again.
Andy.

Hi guys.
Just to let you all know that I phoned Rodley motors in Bradford and they had the bushes in stock. After Phil mentioned the harshness of urethane, and taking into account that the control arm bushes won't really be seen, I have gone for the normal common or garden rubber ones, but red urethane front anti roll bar drop link bushes (which they also had in stock). £60 deliverd tomorrow! Now all I have got to do is send the through bolt, spacer and washers off to be chrome plated, spray the lower control arm in 2 pack and fit the air springs and the front is ready to go!
Rear axle next. Hmmm? Chrome plate or paint? Decisions, decisions. Wonder if the bank account will stand up to all this?!!
Thanks to all that replied.

Hi Phil.
It is certainly possible to get there from J26, yes.
Paul's e-mail that we all received had a good map attached. Go onto www.streetmap.co.uk and type in "Capesthorne hall", unless you have a PC based route finder.
Forecast looks promising, and we have just bought a small tent for family shelter (!), so we are all ready to go already!!!!
I phoned up the gentleman who was organising it last night and he said we were all welcome to come but we would have to pay the full entrance fee on arrival. Wish I knew what that was though.
I think Paul is going also. I even put my car into a local steam rally today to get it's very first show under it's belt! Looked a bit small at the side of those traction engines. Could call it a show virgin today!
Hope to see you there. I am looking forward to seeing your car.
