i've defected......
yup... the rumors are sadly true, i have finaly sold my camaro, and my astro, and am now driving a 96 mustang SN95
despite being the 3800 V6, its about the same in terms of peformance as the camaro (or near as dammit) and with just 23,700 miles on the clock when i collected it, it is in absolutely mint condition

no direct price as such, it was a straight deal between the astro and camaro, but it was to all intents and purposes £2500
the dealer has it up for only a little more than that,
Redbournes American - Suppliers of quality American vehicles
scroll down the page, the astro above it was mine, and sold VERY quickly!
the stang was up for £3999 and both of mine are simply priced to clear, as he has other cars coming soon...

Thats 2 of us gone over to Ford, i found a nice 95 Stang v8 at a great price, with zero rust a good few months back.
Though i'm hoping when i can find a decent 4th Gen Trans-am its back to Pontiac.
I looked at loads, but mostly they were UK supplied rust buckets, i just dont have the time anymore to re-build too much stuff, 3rd gens included.
This board and its members are still one of the finest imo, had some great help on here.

hard to say really.....
i loved that car to bits, and really didn't want to sell it, but a pending possible move abroad means excess vehicels translate to excess hassle, and the crappy weather meaning it simply wasn't being used..
as much as i didn't want to sell it, i didn't want it to start deteriorating either, so i decided it was time to let someone else enjoy it..

Ditto, that and the wife telling me NOT to spend all my life fixing it up.
Next car will be a 4th gen tho, if i can find a non rusty one.
That, and its so much easier to find stuff for Trans Ams, even old ones.
See you at the AMVO Phil.

Hey, at least we are planning on coming back.
And believe it or not, we have to take what we can get here, so if anyone wants to send a rust free 3rd gen over................

tis true...
its a very different world here, i test drove three very differeent cars that weekend, all of which were no finance cash sales, a porsche 968 (too many miles, too basic) a volvo C7 turbo coupe (nice, but a shade dull) and the mustang..
the porsche was in a league of its own against the stang and volvo for peformance, but no air con, keep fit windows, no abs, no airbag, expensive consumables (brake pads about £120 per set) all counted against it, as did its 150,000 miles..it was a bit rough, and a bit cheap for what they should be (£5500) so it rather screamed 'money pit' to me....
volvo was a 99 model, with 70,000 miles, in mint condition, metalic burgandy, and cream leather interior, it was nice, but while driving it, you kept thinking it was a V70 wagon.. the 96 stang was the lowest milage (23,700) and comfier than the porsche, and about as quick as the volvo, but in a nicer package..
