First off this is the rust Rich discovered, filled with bathroom sealant-



Clearly this wasn't a great platform on which to weld SFC's!

Here is the bit he fabbed up and welded in for me-



Whilst I don't have any photos of my own, here are some of the car lowered-





The Alston SFC's really make the car more solid and true. Added to which Rich fitted the BMR 2 pt strut tower brace.

Finally the underneath was all waxoyld. Can't have the ugly rust coming back. Awesome job all round. Very happy with everything except the speed bumps

Where was that panel from? I don't recognise that and I've media blasted and sprayed every square inch of the underside of mine!

They look far better lower.

Yummy. To bad this place isn't in Ohio or the US for that matter. I need my floor pans looked at as well and would like to get a small piece like that instead of buying a whole new floor pan since its about a 12x12 spot on each side RIGHT under the seats.

Anyway our cars look awesome lowered. I plan to drop mine 2" front and rear on some very stiff suspension. Cleveland roads aren't roads, they are a series of area's that may have flat spots haha.

Anyway get some new pictures. Try to get a picture from the side at eye level to the fenders. Thanks and glad the rust is gone and taken care of.

The panel is drivers side in front of the seat, where your feet go. Not only was it rusted the clowns had put a metal tray over the area to stop your feet falling through... Bodge job. So pleased I found American Technique and also damn pleased I asked Rich to fit SFC's. If not, the offending iece was well hidden and looked superficially fine..

 

Looks excellent Felix. I'm loving the stance with the springs in. What set of springs did you end up going for, and is there a big difference in handling? I really hope to see the car this year!

After being inspired, I'm off to look at my rear end project!

I used Eibach Sportlines which offer a 2" drop opposed to the Pro Kit which is 1.5". Ride is a little firmer but not bad. I do scrape the front air dam (black plastic one) a lot more now but hey it's only plastic right?

As for handling, the springs added to the stb and sfc have made it far more responsive, more predictable and better all round. I love the stance too, I did the same with the ZZ4 white IROC and it just looked better. Sort of thing a woman could never understand. It's all about the stance on these cars.

 

Yes, I agree, stance means a lot on these cars. I was going to use the Sportlines as well but noticed it doesn't lower the rear as equal to the front. So I will be going with custom springs for the rear or might look into a coil over setup. Time will tell. Still though, yours looks good.

 

Do you have any pics of the STB?

 

The sportlines are 1.6 front and 1.3 rear but does settle quite even. If anyone needs any pics of lowered f-bodies just drop me an email i have lowered loads of them with the different springs.

The pics of the car were taken when springs had just gone on so they have settled and sunk a little more now. Pictures of the car side on and the STB will be here when it stops being so cold..

Looks really good Felix. I was thinking about taking mine out tonight as the roads are starting to sry up, but there is grit and salt everywhere and it's like driving on marbles sometimes
