Car is now back on the road after nearly 5 years. Very happy with it Driving 700hp with a spool, and a new brake set up was interesting!

Never thought I'd see the day. Good job in seeing it through. Do you have any more pictures?

What ever happened to the original car before you bought the RS?

Re: Finished after nearly 5 years

Heres a few more pictures, had a few minor issues: wrecked a blower belt, now shimmed better, all ok so far. The flying belt ripped through the crankcase evacuation pipes, causing the breather to spit out oil!

Cheap 4 way fuse box overloaded, caused both fans to blow fuses, nearly overheated, that's also because it has the wrong water pump, is supposed to be a reverse rotation one.

Yes BMW E36, there's several well documented threads on here how to do it, its pretty easy, I think it gives the car a great more modern look

To each their own I guess... It's not a modern looking car so I feel they look out of place but, not my car so as long as you like it.

Well done.
I must be quite the conversation piece when you're blasting down the M5 (or wherever you blast!)

Re: Finished after nearly 5 years

The M5 is only 5 miles from me, but really not going out of town yet. Have had a string of problems, all sorted as they come, is going well now. Besides, its probably getting less than 10 to the gallon? So a gallon is costing me around £6 or 10$USD or $11CD!!!!!

Re: Finished after nearly 5 years

$11 a gallon. Ouch. I thought I was in tough at 1.45/litre (6.50 CDN for an Imp gal).
10 MPG isn't very helpful either although at 700 HP you kind of get what you asked for!

Another reason why I want to smack folks in the US for bitching about gas prices. $3.79 for 93 octane. You won't catch me complaining.
