Headers

Hey everyone,
Need a little help. I was told that putting headers on my 92 Firebird will change the back-pressure that is created by the exhaust leaving the engine. I was wondering if this will hurt the way my car runs? If it would how would I go about getting that fixed. One last thing. Do headers come with the O2 sensor already drilled into them??? Looking at hedman hedders
Hey, Thanks very much whoever replies
Rob

Yes, it will change your backpressure, but b.p is bad, so performance will greatly be increased.

It kinda makes sense y back pressure is bad, but it also makes sense y a little would be good for an engine.
I plan to put headers on and dual exhaust. Do I have to connect the exhaust piping to equilize pressure.
Thanks

No, backpressure, doesn't make sense to be good. It's all bad.

Back pressure is for torque. My other car runs better with out it, but I lost the off the line speed. If you are going to go with a dual setup, don't use a H pipe. see if you can use an X. H pipe counteracts the heders.

No, it was not BACKPRESSURE! It was exhaust velocity that changed.

There's a difference, and the next person that says backpressure makes torque gets slapped.
