Cutout position

I posted about putting the cutout in place of the cats earlier, if i put it there will i still get the open header sound when its open or will it be too far back? Where else could i put it further up, right after the Y-pipe? (isint the cat directly behind the Y-pipe anyhow?) I would go look, but im at school and just thinking about it.

For real open headers do it right after the y-pipe. There should be enough room. Though if you want to tone it down just a bit, right after the cat is a good idea.
