headers and Y pipe
I know I am asking for it (the flames about search) but as someone else stated, alot of people don't have time to search through the thousands of posts when maybe someone reading this can give a good opinion. I am ready to order my headers and exhaust, I have already decided on the 3-inch American Thunder catback w/ 3-inch pipe instead of the cat. I need a good header Y pipe combo (3-inch Y pipe) probably go with shortys, can't afford SLP. Stock 350 TPI, also adding AFPR at time of header install and plenum porting, other than that it will be stock.
P.S.-Don't flame me to bad about the search button, LMAO.

well you have 2 real choices then edelbrock or hedman. both have 3 in. slip fit y pipe and roughly cost the same. both will rust but they can be coated to help prevent that or slow down that problem. flowtech makes headers as well, but a 2.5 collector, dirt cheap though.
nothing is perfect someone will have something negative to say about both but on a mostly or light moded car they will work great. chp did a build-up on a camaro with edelbrocks that ran low 12's so they cannot be all bad.
i have all day to do searchs so i have looked at every option out there and i keep coming back to edelbrocks for the fit, ease of install and price.

Reports are the Hedman y-pipe is restrictive (2.5") where the two sides come together, and is then expanded to fit the 3" cat. Poor design, if that's true.
Reasons not to use the Edelbrock TES abound. I don't have any 1st-hand knowledge, because I avoided them based on the comments of others.
The Hookers aren't perfect, but probably the best choice if you don't go SLP. Biggest issues I had were: 1) Ball flange opening at connector small, I just used an angle grinder to open them up once I knew were the y-pipes would mate; 2) Driver's side A.I.R. check-valve fitting faces wrong way for me, but that won't be a problem on a TPI car.
