High Performance Exhaust Manifolds

Does anyone know anything about the HP exhaust manifolds GM sells for the early 80s 350 HO conversion? Are they basically stock L98 manifolds or are they actually an high performance manifold? and will they work on my L98?

go to www.gmpartsdirect.com and look for part#s

I still don't understand why people are willing to waste their money and time with manifolds.

I can't understand why some people still insist on diminishing the ideas of other people on message boards

Because I would like to keep a stock looking appearance and increase the performance of my car...

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off as a jerk, I just couldn't imagine working on the car for another 6 hrs when I could get more HP by going a different route.

which ones?

So then which headers would you recommend. I don't plan on touching the heads for now or changing cam. All the mods will be top end untill atleast next year. So for now I want to increase exhaust flow, torque converter, chassis work and the free mods found on this site. What headers would you recommend, keep in mind in Canada we have to exchange our fortunes for some US dollars!

Being a fellow Canadian,i can appreciate the difference between the dollars.I debated getting headers for a while and decided to finally order a set from Jeg's.I got the Hedman shorties and y-pipe along with a set of MSD 90 degree plug wire ends.I figure with the difference in the money it'll cost alittle over 300 clams.(226$ american).I had them shipped to my parents house in NY state, and plan to bring them back when i visit In July.I'm staying for 2 weeks,so that will allow me to bring them back duty free.I see that you live in Montreal.Do you have any American friends that you could ship your parts to, then go for a "visit"and install the stuff?Just a thought. My parents only live about an hour-and a -half from you.(Malone,NY)small world Huh...

Yeah I have friends in the US, but they're in Florida and California. I am heading down to Florida for a wedding the end of this month, but funds this month are short for the toys, but I am probably going to L.A. for summer vacation end of July so I might pick something up then. The thing is I am doing all my chassis work first. I found a guy to build and install a set of frame connectors next week or the week after, I am changing to KYBs tomorrow night, I am picking a wonderbar and strut tower brace in Florida, boxing my LCA and relocating them, after that saving for a adjustable torque arm and panhard bar. Once all this is done then I will start on getting more power out of the engine.

as for $300 USD to Canadian. On straight exchange around $470.00 + 15.55% sales tax + % duty if applicable. Basically the general rule of thumb is to double the US price and that should cover it.
