A 3" exhaust will work, just make sure you include headers with your setup
if u go with a 3in exuast go with the hooker headers cat back. u will love it, i know i do and alot of other happy customers.
mark where were u on that ? im suprised u didnt tell him aboutthe hooker cat back before me lol

:lala: I like ATR's pit bull exhaust thats what I have on my 305tpiho. It rumbles deep and low at idle then screams at full throttle. One down side is its $495.00, all stainless though.

I like my own random tech cat back sounds nice, well just about anything out there will sound nice to a stock system.
i noticed you have a th 400 behind that 305, i guess you will never have to worry about breaking that, i also heard that it takes 20 more hp to turn than the th350 and its heavier

Not overkill at all. The loss in torque is negligible (if any loss at all) and is replaced by how well the engine breathes out at higher rpms.
And its one less thing to mess with if you decide to install a bigger engine.
