Who has heard Gale Banks system?

I might buy a Gale Banks muffler off a guy but I need to know how it sounds. Who can tell me?

Also if you've heard a SpinTech muffler on a thirdgen please tell me how it sounded too.

And if you dont like either one give me some suggestions/descriptions of some other mufflers or systems!

Thanks!!

I had the Gale Banks systems on both my IROC and Camaro. The IROC was a 5 speed and sounded better than the Camaro (Automatic). It is definitely one of the better sounding mufflers for the third gens, plus it is stainless steel - lasts practically forever.

I have no idea what a spintech sounds like.

Other systems:
Flowmaster
Dynomax
Edelbrock
SLP
Borla

My brother has the Gale Banks 3" catback on his Z and I can't begin to tell you how much I envy the way his car sounds every time he starts it.

Holy crap! Mustang without Flowmasters? I don't believe it.

I know someone with a gale banks cat-back but couldnt tell you if it sounds good because he has no tail pipes, a monster cam (that only slows him down), and several exhaust leaks.

I have a 3" Spin Tech Race Quiet muffler. The sound is deep and throaty and not metallic like 40 series Flows. I'm amazed at how great it sounds considering that I have a stock LB9. At the shop I work at, there are a lot of sweet cars (mostly first-gen Camaros!) that come by all the time. Even after hearing them time and again, I am impressed with the sound my car makes. Obviously it's not as aggressive as some of them (a few of those STREET CARS run high 6's in the 8th), but it sounds good nonetheless. Also, the Cobra in my sig sounds very good and very unique. I found it by ear at a recent car show. A lot of people have said that it sounds very good. After hearing that car I can still go back to mine and be impressed.

The drawbacks are the drone at from 1800-2000 rpm. It's not nearly as bad as dumped 40 series Flows, but it makes me sleepy after a while. The car is actually quieter at 60mph in 4th gear (3000 rpm on stock tach) than in 5th (2000 rpm). Some 4.10's should take care of the drone in a week or so, though.
