opinions on dynomax exhaust

What are your opinions on this Dynomax exhaust system? is it good, bad, mediocre, or excellent? I have an 89 IROC with a 350. I'm looking for noticeable performance gains and a very nice sound, will this fulfill it or are there better catbacks around for a similar price? Here is the product

If you want a deep, loud sound, this is not the system for you. My friend has an 88 IROC with SLP headers and y-pipe, Vette heads and some other small mods. He has the Dynomax system. Its not very loud at idle. It does sound alright at WOT, but I like my Ravin system better.

I don't think that catback would be great for performance, it's basically the stock exhaust but mandrel bent. You can pick up 3 inch hooker catback for 200$ from jegs, it'll need a bit of modification to attatch to your stock exhaust.

2.5" single pipe is too small for a 350

The dynomax is a too quiet for me, I would also suggest the hooker cat-back.

i have dynomax on my full-size blazer. its alrite, for that application. But i would not want it on my iroc. Go with flowmaster. Unless you have the money, borla is nice too!

replace the crappy turbo muffler with a dynomax bullet muffler and it will sound great.

Check out GM hi-tech performance web site. They just put this cat back on a '89 bird 305 tpi and got 8horse and 4 lbs.-ft at the rear. So they say. It is a 3 in. pipe which is good but the muffler is a dual exit crossflow design which is still restrictive, but better than stock. I'm thinking of getting this myself and down the road i can always swap on a flowmaster 40 series or edel 309.
