Best cat-back?

i want loud. i dont want a cut-out because that is too loud. i still need a muffler and a cat. i was thinking flowmaster 40 series or american thunder. but i dont know which one of those is better. also i know a guy with a lt1 and his car is awesome. he has a dynomax superturbo. his car sounds great but then again he has a ton more mods than me. but the thing keeping me from the dynomax is that my dad has that on his grandam and once it hit 3k it sounds like a *****. know it wont do that on mine but it would still bug me.

Mark A Shields how loud is your exhaust now. After I did the heads/cam on my car the exhaust is like 10X louder. I have an 80 series.

MAC all the way, if u got headers and a MAC catback watch out.... People hear me coming 1/2mile away... Its a really nice setup with great flow, and it has a LIFETIME warrenty, meaning if it rusts anywhere send it back for a complete new setup!!!!!

Nope no sound clip, I dont got a laptop anymore it got sold with my girlfriends 98eclipse gst.... So i cant make one, but its a hell of an exhaust it will definatly wake people up... I was thinking about getting mac headers, but I will most likely go with the hooker 2055's... But in anycase hey if ur in the PHILA area or within like 40miles Ill take a drive out and u can hear for yourself its in the shop right now my entire cooling system took a dump..... Its such a good exhaust even with a highflow cat on there its amazing sounding.... I would recommend it to anyone who wants to be different, and its a gr8 flowing exhaust, a lil more flowing then my 305 can keep up with, LOL...

I bet it will sound even better without a cat, and how does it sound at idle. I am buying a used mac off road exhaust and I dont want to hate the sound of my own car.

At idle it has a mellow hum, but around 4500rpm WATCH OUT!!! And it doesnt have that annoying interior res.... Trust me I know the feeling of buying an exhaust and not being happy with it... I bought an exhaust set and had it for about 3weeks it just wasnt my style... It sounded like a stock car at start up and a little louder then stock while crusing, and it wasnt a dynomax either.... It was a cated Flowmaster system, it sounded terrible... My girlfriend was even b!tchin at me to change it, so I thought about the hooker because I heard it on marks car and it sounded gr8 but then I remembered my friend had this killer exhaust on his mustang it was MAC so I did something different took a chance and got the MAC system, trust me you wont be dissapointed at all.... If you hate it I'm sure one of my buddies would take it off your hands...
