hooker catback system

I have a 1989 Firebird I'm wanting to install a new exhaust system on, and I'm not sure what the difference between a new systems are. The link to the page I'm about to talk about is:

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...29&prmenbr=361

I'm wanting to know the difference between the following:
Camaro/Firebird 1983-92, 305(non-H.O.)
Camaro/Firebird 1983-85, 305
Camaro/Firebird 1986-92, 305 H.O., TPI

The first says it supports engine code E (my engine code), but the other two do not. What's the difference?

well i know the dynomax systems have the same differences and it has to do with how it mounts to the catalytic convertor.

Yeah, it's how it connects to the catalytic convertor. Pretty much everybody buys the 200$ setup that comes with the 4 bolt flange, and if they need to, have a shop modify it to fit their system....

That's what I was considering doing. Is the system worth it? I want to redo my entire exhaust with 3" pipes, but I'm not sure what the hooker catback has (assuming the stock size). So any more info I can get on that would be nice, and about how much would a body shop charge for modifying the exhaust to hook it up to the cat?

It's a 3 inch I-pipe with 2 1/2 inch tail pipes, quad chrome 3 inch tips. It's a good deal for 200$. I haven't had mine put in yet, gonna do it after it's painted. I don't think it could cost that much to have an exhaust shop modify it.

Most likely yes. The shop cut the flange off my I pipe and welded it to the cat. Where as if it bolted right in would have been easier.

They are all 3" exhaust.
Sound clip in my sig, with old mods.

Alright, I guess I'll get the $200 exhaust system then. Thanks for the help. It won't sound as good as Mark's though, considering I have the ****ty LO3 with 170hp
