Muffler help

Out of the choices I have what will give me the best sound/proformance? I am going with a Ravin muffler and they don't have a duel 3" outlets.

i think 2 oulets of 2 1/2 in each will be fine. no performance will be lost by using 2 1/2 in instead of 3 in.

From what people say, your tailpipes have a lot to do with the sound also. Just a thought.

I like dual outlets, 1 on each side, although some say that the crossflow mufflers don't flow as well. I prefer the "true duals" look, even though we all know it may not be. I also think there is something to the tailpipes affecting the sound. My current set-up is stock 2-1/4 back to where the muffler is supposed to be, then split into duals out each side with 3" tips. I personally don't think it sounds too bad. Slight rumble at idle, fairly loud at WOT, audible but not obnoxious at cruise RPM. Kind of a mellow burble, but that's with an LO3, with its tiny cam. Also, I noticed in the mods in your sig that you were thinking of modifying your air cleaner. I've been playing with one that I made out of leftover parts, it's not pretty, (one large snorkel, one small, welded up) but the difference is noticeable. Oh, yeah, now I hear the motor inhale too.

I have been thinking about getting the 3" IL 1 3" OL, but putting it further up and just splitting the pipe and go with two tail pipes. That way I can have it 3" from front to back. I just have to see if I have the ground room. Do most places carry 3 1/2" pipe? If I go with the 2 21/2" OL, I want the last foot or so 1" bigger, I heard it will give a more hollow effect.

The aerochamber comes with dual 2.5" outlets.
