Some people on thirdgen.org have converted to true dual.

If I'm not mistaken, our cars really don't need dual exhaust. At least stock.

i think there are a coupel reasons. one, our cars didnt need it stock. its not like 3rd gens came with 455 blocks that needed a dual system. two, when you run true duals ground clearance on our already low cars gets cut in half.

My only guess is from the way they designed the vehicle, there wasn't enough room underneath and just went with single.

I remember 403olds T/As having duals(not a y-pipe now) into a single cat , back into dual mufflers and pipes. How corked is that? !!

The thirdgens were so smogged out that they didn't need to flow well. In fact the government wanted the exact opposite of what we want. The Mustangs of this vintage were single exhaust too. Why have nice exhaust on a pooch.

Are you referring to Fox Body Stangs? If so, they have factory dual exhaust and even factory headers.

Money, didn't need it, and where would they put both of the mufflers? There is no room under there for them. I would like to see side pipes that are hidden like the stock cars have. Come out the body.
