where should i put my cutout??

I'm putting a cutout on my car next week and was wondering where the best place would be to put it. Should i put it before or after the cat? If i put it after it, how far back?

Do a search moron.

I'd put it before the cat, to get all the backpressure out of there. But then again, the cat may help a little, if you wanna try it on the street , you know to keep cops off your tail. Doubt it will help much though. I'd put it right after the Y.

Jerk .

Thanx for the input. I have a high flow cat anyway. Hmmm, i forgot about that. So I don't think it will make that much of a difference.

I just had a 3 inch cut out put on my 91 Z28 5.7 TPI and the muffler shop I went to put it on after the cat's.....like almost under the rear passenger side seat. It is soooooo loud but it sounds sooooo good. I'm getting a McCord Power Plate for it though so I can control the volume of it...because with the cut out all the way off.....it is way to loud for the street.

where ever you decide to put it, make sure you can get to it easliy, that way you can open and close at will

i just thought of something for guys that have a cat back, but a stock cat, a cut out will flow (out) more before that cat, because the cat is "blocking the air" and pushing it out the cut out, if you put if after the muffler won't really "block it" so you'll have exhaust coming out of your cut out and tail pipes

84customZ....I know what you're talking about with the electric cutout. If you need one, let me know. I can get you one from work.
