Who knows alot about SLP headers and their Y-pipe?

I'm thinking about getting 1 3/4" SLP headers w/o air tubes. What size are the collectors and the Y-pipe? Also, how much would these cost?

BTW, I'm getting a bigger engine soon. That's why I'm getting 1 3/4" instead of 1 5/8's.

The collectors and y-pipe are 2 1/4". SLP is having a special on them right now. Check out http://www.slpeng.com/ and look for the thirdgen specials.

The y-pipe diameters are 2 1/2" ID, so I don't see how the collectors would be smaller than that.

Maybe they're 2 1/4" on the 1 5/8" headers, but I know they're 2 1/2" on my 1 3/4" headers.

Are you sure? I called SLP directly and asked them about the difference between their 1 5/8" headers and their 1 3/4" headers, and they said the only difference is the size. They use the same y-pipe, 2 1/4". My dad just put a set on an 87 IROC, 1 3/4" SLP headers with a 2 1/4" y-pipe.

Yeah, I'm sure. I got my set used and went through a bit of trouble finding a crush ring gasket that would work for the setup. I got one that was 2 1/2" ID first, but since that was how SLP measured their pipes it was too small. So I went back to the store and exchanged them for a slightly larger one.

Also, if you look here under header accessories, the collector donut gaskets are listed as 2 1/2" ID (but they must be slightly oversized).

Damn!!! What are they? I don't want them if they're gonna have 2 1/4" pipes. How about the Y-pipe exit? It's 3" right?

I have the SLP 1-5/8" headers. Kevin is 100% correct. They are 2-1/4". I know this for a fact because I measured everything with my micrometer. I even posted about it a year ago on the old thridgen.org message board.

This is for the dual cat setup. GM's cats that they use on the dual cat setup are 2-1/4" in and 2-1/2" out. The SLP pipes are 2-1/4" to mate up to this. The header collectors are also 2-1/4" BUT they appear to be 2-1/2". That is probably where the discrepency is here. The 2-1/4" pipes neck-UP to 2-1/2" exactly at the collector. The header collector appears to be 2-1/2" until you measure the diameter slightly UP-stream in the collector ... then you'll see its 2-1/4". Been over this many times before and already took the measurements to solve some disputes on this matter over a year ago.
