Should i still get a Flowmaster?
I plan to get a Cutout for my Camaro but am not sure if i should also get the full exaust done because ive heard people say that if you have a flowmaster it still gives you better tones than just a cutout alone, but i dont want to waste money on a whole system if a Cutout is all i need, i was also thinking about maybe just a free-flow cat and the cutout, tell me what you guys think, thanks..

If you want to run on the str in CA you better just get a cat-back, I don't see you makin it too long with a cutout.

I'd get the cat-back and the cut-out if you really want a cut-out. You obviously can't run all the time with the cut-out. And I'd bet you might get tired of it, least this way you can choose.

Having Flowmaster exhaust and a cut-out are 2 completely different sounds. Get the full exhaust and put the cut-out somewhere, then you have both.

Mark needs to talk to hooker and show them this board. He could make some money from it!!! I would get both, that way you could have the open pipe and the flow sound when you wanted. I got tired of open pipe on my car. Of course it was open Y pipe!!

The friend with the T/A he is referring to is me. With the cut-out he will get a more deeper and louder tone if he were to keep the stock cat and muffler. The muffler does affect the sound of the exhaust even with the cut-out. There are times when I am driving that I can hear the Flowmaster sound from my exhaust. Not all the exhaust goes out the cut-out and some still comes out the muffler. If he were to get a hi-flo cat with the cut-out the exhaust tone will be very much louder. The tone will be a lot more raspier. The best thing I would do would get the cut-out now since he wants it for sound, then later on have the muffler and cat changed. There is power to be gained from switching out the massive stock cats on the cars for a smaller hi-flo one. As for problems with the cops, I have been running open cut-out for about 6 months now with no problems whatsoever.
