What is the most affordable header that is tuned?
Summit brand?
Hooker comp shortie?
Headman hedders?
Are any of the brands listed above tuned?
I don't want to go with edelbrock or SLP.
Thanks

Headers will come "tunned" from certin places, like SLP and edelbrock or say hooker super comp. They are tunned, because each tube is the exact same leangth so the exaust flows through the header pipes at the same time, exiting the header into the exhaust pipe at the same tims, thus causing better flow and better preformance. SLP, edelbrock and hooker super comp headers all come tunned. I want to know if the summit brand or any other brands come tunned.

OK, so by tuned you're talking about equal length headers? Is that correct?
Either way I don't know of any equal length headers for a ThirdGen, my SLP's aren't even close. The front primary on either bank is a good 6 to 8" longer than either of the back two. I'm sure that the Edelbrock's and others are the same way too. There just isn't enough room in there to facilitate equal length primaries. Maybe the Hooker long-tubes are equal length, but I don't see how you could make a shorty that way.

I am not totaly sure about the SLP's and Edelbrock headers, but yes long headers, like hooker super comp are tunned. I guess then, summit brand headers are going to be just the same preformance as SLP or anything else.... Sure, the SLP's may last longer, and they are made of better quality, but I can't afford them and need headers now!
Thanks..... Guess its summit time

The main advantage of the SLP's is the fact that they are 1 3/4" primaries. All other (that I know of anyway) are only 1 5/8" or 1 1/2" primaries, so they can't flow quite as much air. The other thing the SLP's have over the other brands is the y-pipe. I still have yet to see a header y-pipe that is made to flow as well as the SLP's. All of the others crimp the tubes together into the collector or have some funky bend in them or something.

I would go with a flomaster y pipe, out of summit for $40. That, or, just weld in some true duals, I have all the stuff for duals, just need headers.....
