My Hybrid Hooker/Bullet Race Muffler System
After being frustrated with trying to get my hooker to line up with my aftermarket Y pipe and aftermarket modified cat delete, I decided upon a new path. I bought a Dynomax Bullet Race muffler from Summitracing, and had an exhaust shop take my Hooker I pipe and modify it. Basically, it runs back to where it normally would have started to turn up to go over the axel, and just dumps. So it goes hedman ceramic coated headers to Y pipe and 3" cutout with 3" pipe back to a 3" dynomax bullet muffler, dumping before the rear axel. I must say it exceded my expectations for single exhaust. It is a new motor so i have not completely romped on it yet, but at idle it has a really deep smooth sound. At about 3500 rpm it starts to scream
and when you let off it doesnt backfire, but instead crackles. normal i dont like crackling when you let off but this is a different more mean sounding. here are pics of the muffler, i will have pics of the system up when daylight allows.

Here is a pic, havent welded up the exhaust hangers yet.
I am really loving it. I never tried standing behind the car before, it has a really deep tone from behind. My friends all love it, I just cant wait until i can run dual bullet mufflers

I'm getting a set of straight through mufflers like that soon
no chambers or anything
best at reducing back pressure.... and flow just as well as a st ragiht pipe for the most part
only problem ..... LOUD
and my stock mufflers already get the attention of most anyone.... and I'm getting two of those bastards

how much did those cost and do that have stainless packing or fiberglass
can't run fiberglass on my car

I took both 2.5" pipes, ran them into their own 2.5" Bullet mufflers, and then Y-ed that into a single 3.5" pipe that dumps about a foot passed the trans. I love the way they sound. I was quite surprised. I thought it would sound more like a glasspack.

Once the hangers are on, it will end up being about 1/2in or so below the bottom of the collectors at the lowest point, so it may be an issue.

I tried to get a sound file, but it is wayyyyyyyy to distorted. All I had was a digital camera, and it sucked, so until I get to use it again, I will have to wait to post it.

I've been debating on the single chamber flows or the bullets, a guy at the track has the bullets and damn is that thing loud, I think I'd be nervous driving in town, but then again the bandit sees more strip than street so WTF right. And even if I did get pulled over, the car ought to explain itself with it's new interior exterior so locals should be pretty cool about it-have yet to meet a cop that is'nt or was'nt a gear head at some point-but I do alot of work on cops homes too, so that might explain that.
