Hooker Prices

I think I've decided to go with the hooker catback for my '91 Formula L03 305. What is the cheapest anybody has been able to get this for? Why is the HO kit cheaper in jegs than the non HO kits?

Not planning on any bigs mods on this car by the way.

259 is the cheapest you can find it pretty much anywhere.

i got mine for $199.99(part number 16822) and it is for the 83-85 HO cars with a 4-bolt cat. my cat was a 2-bolt cat but i had the local muffler shop modify it. it cost me a total of $125 to get it put in. your going to have to call jegs for the difference between the others. and i LOVE the sound. and the muffler shop installed it perfect. it dont hit the axle or anything like some other guys that installed it themselves said. just make sure you get a Muffler Shop to install it.

I'm going to install it myself. I trust me more than any muffler shop around here. I'll just keep working on it till I get it right.

RED82TA5.7L how did the shop modify it to work? What did they modify the catback or the converter?

I want put it on myself, but I'd kinda like to have the HO pipes.

What's everbody think about this. Take the part of my old intermidate pipe that bolts to the converter, and having it welded to the hooker pipe so that I can bolt up to the converter. What do you guys think? Is it worth it or should I just get the non HO kit?

what they did was cut the flang thing, that had 4-bolt holes, off. then it was an oval shape and they welded it to the cat and filled in the sides(because it was oval) with weld. dont worry, the I-pipe after a few inches is perfectly round and 3". it was oval because it had to go down to 2 1/2" for the cat.. i think the 83-85 HO car had an oval shaped cat. hope this helps

yea. that idea about welding in part of your old I-pipe sounds good. it would save you $60 on getting the right one for your car. Do that, it sounds great

I went ahead and ordered the one for my car. Didn't feel like buying something that cost that much just to cut it up and rig it to work.

I waiting on my kit to come. I got my old pipes off today, they had holes all the way from the converter to where the muffler should be.

Depending on what part of town, about $50 bucks for a hooker
