After a year of preperation...im not ready!!! HELP!!

damnit ive been preparing and researching exhaust for my car for over a year....and now it comes time to buy it and i dont know what to do. i had planned on 1 3/4 super comps (hooker) but they arent smog legal!! so i changed to 1 5/8 super comps but they are shorties...i think....right?? i want the long tubes!!! can anyone recommend any LONG TUBES that are smog legal?? if not i might have to go with the 1 5/8 hookers...are they gonna restrict my 400 small block too much??/ if so what do i do??

I havent researched long tube headers, but if you cant get them, dont even bother with 1 5/8" headers. Spend the money on the SLP 1 3/4" headers, you'll need them.

Oh, and we only need to read your signature once. Thanks.

Yes, SLPs are smog legal...

I don't know of any 1 3/4 smog legal long tubes for third gens. But if you want to, you can buy an AIR injection tube kit from Hedman and drill and weld them on to the Hooker LTs.

Keep in mind if you do this that the Hookers will LOOK smog legal and will pass the sniffer but it still really isn't legal because they weren't certified that way.

I actually thought of doing this but I still had to figure out a way to run a custom Y pipe w/cats so I could pass Cali's visual insp too but scrapped the idea...I went with the SLP 1 3/4" headers instead and am happy with them.

so what kind of y pipe are you running now/??? SLPs sound like the way to go for me.
the slps are long tubes right??? or are they shorties too????>?

AM I MISTAKEN BY THINKING THAT LONG TUBES ARE BETTER?? OR ARE SHORTIES JUST AS GOOD?
