Silent Headers?

I heard somewhere that holly makes "silent headers" for thirdgen cars. Is this true? Do silent headers give you more performance without people knowing you have headers? Thanks in advance!

I have never heard of such. Headers always produce more sound, but I don't think it's a sound that people can tell, oh he has headers.

Easy now, obviously, it's not his fault, it's the people who told him this, too bad he listens to them.

BrodysCamaro:

Hey man i was just wondering if it was true. I dont know that much about headers.

Mark A Shields:

Headers only make your car louder? It's not going to change the tone i have?

I should really do some research about headers and such but between school, trying to find a job and trying to get my car running properly i just havent had the time.

Thanks! :hail:

They may make the tone change some, kind of hard to distinguish.

Don't apologize, you are researching them right now, by asking questions.

Headers will make your car sound louder and much, much, meaner.

I guess I'll mention that headers will improve performance also. They will also make your car sound meaner, and just plain look better. At idle there is no way you can tell if a car has headers or not, you will be able to tell if a car has an aftermarket exhaust system, but not pin point it to having headers. I have a flow 80 and no cat. and its way louder than a stock system, of course (no headers yet, we'll see soon hopefully).

Man I need to get some headers.

No headder is quite but the thicker the tubes are the quieter they are. If you have shorties the sound difference from stock manifolds is minute at the front of the car but long tube headders have a pulsing sound that is unmistakeable.
