Removing Cat HELP (its stuck)

I was taking of my cat the last night and it took me a while to get all the bolts off. I inally got all the stupid clamps loosend even the little one going into the cat which i am
assuming was the o2 sensor. What i was going to do was take all the $hit out of the
inside and put it back on. That cat back pipe came right off but when i pulled on the cat i
realized that it was stuck on the pipe going in. I banged on it pretty hard but itwas still stuck.

So any ideas on how the hell i get it off???

yeah, just use a torch to heat the pipe before the cat, (obviously), and once the pipe is "red hot", wiggle the cat back and forth until it comes off. If the pipe cools, youll have to heat it again because the impressions from the clamp are still there. I did this on my GTA, and what a difference in performance! Good luck.

Good idea to put it back in albeit cored-out. I don't know how Nebraska is with smog checks, but it never hurts to maintain appearances! I've found the most painless way to gut a cat converter is to take a piece of pipe that's just big enough to slide in. If your pipe has a nice sharp edge, just take a hammer and drive that bitch home. Be aware that you might have trouble with the A.I.R. tube in the middle! You may want to drive in from both sides rather than fight with that tube. If the pipe has a dull or jagged edge, you may have to take a pipe wrench and turn it as you hammer it through.
