Please answer Hooker Question

Nobody has been able to answer me this question. Why do the hooker 2055's ( the shorty super comps) say they are only for 1986-90 5.0/5.7L? What are the differences between the 1990 and the 1992 exhaust? I have a 92 5.0L and ive been told to get the 2055's, that they will fit my car, but why does it only say to 1990? Im jus a lil tentative about spendind over 300 dollars on something that might not fit.

They will fit...A.I.R hookup might be different tho...no wait i know why. The 90-up TPI (what that exhaust is actully made for) had the dual cats. Thats why they say it wont work. But since you dont have the dual cat setup it will work fine. Get those headers, high flow cat, and a hooker catback and be done with it,.

Make sure to get them coated or to coat them your self. Take off the black paint. They work great. I didn't have that much of a problem to install. I did it from the bottom on a lift. If you are worried about emmisions, run two high flow cats. That should clean everything out the way you need.

Say 88Bravo

you said you put on a set of 2055's... Put it on a lift and had no real problem? Did you have to remove any of the air cond stuff and what about the starter on the passenger side?

I know there HAD to be some gotcha's...what were they?

Would jacking it up and putting it on jackstands about 14 - 16 inches up work OK? Don't have a lift at home...but do have a ton of jack stands.
