Exhaust leak into interior
Exhaust leak into interior
been getting a really nasty exhaust smell in the interior of the car now. as you would think, it gets a lot worse when i step on the gas. it seems like its coming from behind the climate controls somewhere. i do hear hissing from the climate controls when they are on and my heat wont come out of the vents, only ac will...dunno really...
yeah i get that god damn annoying hissing too... only when the cold-hot switch is not all the way to cold and only when im pressing the gas pedal...dont have a gas smell... but i have NO idea what that hissing is... and my heat doesnt work that well... god damn hissing

yah i know aint it annoying. i dunno if it really has anything to do with the heat working or what. like i know on a lot of cars if u have the heat or whatever on and then turn it off u get the psssssssssssssss after its off, but not usually when its on..:-/
I get the hissing usually when i jus start up the heat or vent, but i turn it on high for a sec and then it stops. Did yours do this in the beginning and progress to a constant thing?

Are you getting headaches after driving the car for some distance? If so, that is a MAJOR sign of carbon monoxide poisioning.
Park the car until it is repaired. IT WILL KILL YOU!
In addition, does the burning smell resemble wires burning? If so, park the car until you can get someone to take a look at it. Not fun to have your car burn up in front of you.
Just behind the climate control panel, there is a vacuum hose junction that connects to the back side of the panel. Your hiss may be coming from there. If it has a leak(s) it will not properly control the vacuum to the diapraghms to move the doors that re-direct air flow under and through the dash. The air flow will determine defrost or heat or whatever you tell it to, depending on where the sliding control is set and if the vacuum lines are still functional.
This burning to your eyes is not something to mess around with. Ever heard of people committing suicide by carbon monoxide poisioning? That is basically how it is done.
