are long tubes better than shortys
i have a 88 350 tpi w/o a.i.r., slight mods, 250+ horse.
big plans in the future though, so don't want to limit myself now. i want dynamax shortys, but is long tubes essential for big horse (400+hp) or is shortys somewhta equal flow?

Long tubes are better for low RPM torque. By using them you'll gain in the low RPM torque and won't loose anything at all in the upper RPM HP. It's normally good for an average of 10 lb.ft. below 3000 RPM.
They're not easy to use in our cars like shorties. They usually require true dual exhaust. You can have a y-pipe made to go single out the back, but that's lots of money. OR... you can do like Willie did (do a search) and run duals along the stock route where the single goes. Again that's a lot of money, but it's better for ground clearance.
Look for *******. It's a very nice setup, and is what I would do if I were to use duals all the way back.
