hmmm...i'm not sure. I have seen some with side exiting exhaust but not the actual side pipes. Also, don't you think that would make clearance an even bigger problem??

If you really wanted side exits, it would probably be wiser to remove the side ground effects. Or you could cut a curved upside down U on the effects and stick the pipe through that, before about 2-3" in front of the rear wheels.

I saw these before. They were on an 86 camaro i believe. The car had no gfx. In my view it was the ugliest thing i have ever seen in my life. I have seen ricers that looked better than this car. It would have been a nice looking camaro, if it didnt have the side exhaust. The ones I saw were huge, and bulky. They looked like the person ripped off smoke stacks from a mack truck, and just mounted them to his car. I dont know if this is the same side exhaust that you want, but the one i saw was hideous.

Some older Corvette's and the late 60's & 1970 Plymouth Cuda had this feature, i really like it, if you planned it right, you could probably make it look really decent on a 3rd gen.

Wow. I guess i was wrong. That blue camaro looks great with the side pipes. I guess it is just that the one i saw was a different style. The one i saw looked totally different. I like the ones on the blue camaro alot.

The older vettes had them simply for clearance problems when running a big block. There was no room for exhaust under the car so the factory mounted the side pipes.

my nieghbor has a 90 firebird and he is wanting to put side pipes on it, not just side exhaust like the blue camaro pic. i dont think it will be to hard to do as long as he gets the correct length sidepipes, then he is going to have to get headers, and have custom pipe bent. he keeps talking about it, if he ever orders the pipes and i get them mounted, i will post pics.
