Cat-back Exhaust

I have an 89' RS with a 305 TBI. I am thinking about byeing the cat back system from Hooker with the aerochamber muffler. My question is what you guys think about it. Would you recemend this kit? If not, what kind of system would you recimend? Please tell me what you guys think?

I think cat backs are great. they are easy too install. I don't think it's worth it if you don't go with stainless. I prefer Borla.

I would love to buy a borla. Unfortunatly I am on a limited budget and am trying to save up enough to buld up a 383. I only have about $600 to spend on exhaust. Thanks for your input though

I love my Hooker cat-back system. It looks, sounds and performs great. I got it from Jegs for $260.

Do the tail pipes come straight out the back of the car or down like the stock tailpipes? How do the tailpipes exit on the flowmaster system? Thanks again for all your input!!

The Flowmaster has them on each side, not like SLP, and it comes with dual 3in. tips.

Thanks for the info,I found it on the web site. One thing though,it looks like the intermediate pipe is 3 pieces.I dont like the idea of that ,its like the Borla kit.To many connections equal more chances for leaks, or am I overreacting.Who has this kit. Thanks for the email IrocZtwentygr8

That new flowmaster system doesn't look too bad. They are finally going w/ some tips on the exhaust instead of turn-downs.

The Hooker system has quad 3" tips on it though, it looks very mean. I prefer the sound from my Hooker system on my 87Z to the sound of the flowmaster system on my 86 IROC but my flowmaster is an older system w/ a different muffler from the new "delta" flow series or whatever they're calling it. But both the flowmaster and hooker systems do sound good.
