RAVIN muffler from Midas.........

Ok guys i know everyone here has there preferece on Flowmaster and Dynomax mufflers....... my car is a 1992 Firebird 305 V-8 LO3 mostly stock, so today i just had Midas install there .....RAVIN..... muffler on my ride with a cat back system, the total for it was.....$240.00 installed and welded.........the RAVIN muffler is supposed to outperform/flow alot better than flowmaster and dynomax does in test comparisons but has not been that aggressivly advertised in the exhaust market......so far i think the sound of this muffler is very aggressive especially when you open it up on the highway.....your teeth are not rattling when you hear it and you can listen to your stereo also ......it is a stock replacement item for camaro's and firebirds but if you want to go 3 inch with it you can get the one from a 98-2002 camaro ss which has the 3 inch pipes coming out the back of it.......they also carry a high flow catalytic converter also to match your setup.......lets here some things about this muffler.....:lala:

I don't know, it goes along the same lines as a Macco paint job....you get what you pay for......
I never heard any type of story about RAVIN mufflers.
I just don't get a good vibe from midas....sure if you are replacing your mufler on a daily driver.....no prob...
biker
but anyway good luck, tell us how it works out (any more performance?)

If the system fits well, is made of good materials, and is mandrel bent, I'd say it sounds pretty good at that price. Time will tell.

Ravin was at SEMA this last year. This was the first time I have seen them there. Nothing really struck me about them besides the existence of yet another performance exhaust company. It will be interesting to see if there products stack up against the rest of what is out there.

My car had the Ravin catback on it when I bought it and I like it. Mine is the 3" system and was $330 for everything. It does sound very nice, but my teeth aren't rattling, which is good. If I wanted that, I'd get a cutout.

Sound clips are on my website, link is in the sig.

If you teeth and car rattling exhuast buy mine

I have heard RAVINs on a 2001 GT and I was very impressed. It sounded real nice actually. Sounds way better than my dads 95 GT with 3 chamber flows. The 2001 still has all its cats to i think it has like 6.

Im not sure how durable they are or anything but they sound good.

I have a friend...

With a 93 Z-28 and a full Ravin' system. Sounds good, almost like a flowmaster if you ask me but without that raspy snarl that the flowmaster make when you rev it up to 5000 rpm or more.

So what does it look like internally. I have the 3 inch dynomax and it looks like a straight 3 inch pipe going through there. It's like you don't even have a bend or any kind of restriction at all yet it still makes it quiet.

dash rattling is not cool trust me on that one. Being able to feel every exhaust pulse under your feet isnt the coolest thing either. The hedman longtubes literally touch the frame so you feel the exhaust ALOT. not to mention my mufflers are....or were bolted to the floor.
