I believe that just the headers are coated. I don't think the Y-pipe is. Don't know if thats important to you or not, but it's worth mentioning.

I've got a set. The y-pipe is not coated. They're all stainless. I haven't installed them, yet. They seem to be constructed much better than the Dynomax headers that are on the car now. My only real complaint is that they're a bit pricey. I got in on a GP a pretty long while back and was able to save some money, still expensive though.

i just got a reply from SLP and this is what they said

Thanks for the interest in SLP parts. The headers have a lifetime
warranty
for defective manufacturing such as cracking tubes or welds that break
as
long as you own the car. The coating has a 5 year warranty for the
fact
that a lot of things can cause the coating to fail such as a car
running
lean or harsh chemicals.

i think i'm going to get them. does anyone know if the other coating companies have a longer warrenty.

I think Jet-Hot offers a lifetime warranty as long as the headers are new when they are coated.

Bummer. Well I hope that the hookers work out for you.

Here are some pics of my SLP's with the Jet Hot Sterling finish...

Are the SLP's really 745 $? Do they come with the Y-pipe?

Up close the coating looks really watered down, but its decent, later on mine are going to come off and go to JET for sterling, how much was it Schultz ?

IIRC, it was $180 for the pair. Great company to work with BTW.

$750 for SLPs sounds a bit high to me..... Where are you looking?

http://www.slponline.com/browse_cat.asp?BCAT=AC_3500

All of the SLP kits for our cars have the Y-pipe included. It is a dual 2 1/4" into 3" in design (for single cat cars). But at least they have true collectors (unlike the Edelbrock TES.....). Some have said the collectors are a bit rough though and benefit from some grinding (what headers don't???? )Looks like the coated versions go for $655 for ones with AIR and $555 for without AIR..... Still pretty steep, but not quite as bad .

If you went with the uncoated versions and had them coated by Jet-Hot (and using the $180 price from above) it would be slightly more (680/580 respectively) but from the sounds of it, would look much better. Course, shipping them around will cost ya a bit.

Just some info for ya'll......
