just got TES headers, now i need a CAT to match...

i just recieved my TES headers today, they're getting installed next weekend. Now all i need is the cat. I already have a Edel. RPM cat-back, but unfortunately it has the 2.5" reducer on it to match the stock LG4 CAT. I know i could have the reducer chopped off and replaced with 3" pipe, but it's gonna be more expensive to do that. Im kinda hoping someone makes a good high flow CAT with a 3" inlet and a 2.5" outlet, and keep it cheap too. Like no more than 100 shipped. Right now im looking at catco and Dynomax, but i don't see that size. Suggestions anyone?

PS- i am NOT putting a straight pipe in place of the cat...

-I'll probably end up having the reducer hacked off so i can have a full 3" exhuast, but i thought i would at weigh check my options first. Either way i need a new cat...

You can check at Catco performance, that should be pretty inexpensive. But, it is going to be hard to find a 3"/2.5" catalytic converter and you might just want to save yourself the hassle and have the reducer cut off and a 3" piece added, I think that is what we are going to do on a car that belongs to a friend of mine.

Just get the reducer cut off, and a extra piece of 3" pipe up to the cat. Catco will have a 3" in/out cat w/ slip fit on both sides for under $99. The factory replacement 3 incher Catco (w/ bolt up flange on the out side) runs $99 from Summit. Works great w/ my TES headers and Hooker cat-back w/ no cutting/fabbing. I'm not sure if they even sell a 3" in, 2.5 out cat. There wouldn't be much "high flow" about like that anyway...

Check my sig for stuff...even if you did find the right cat for the conversion, it would be a complete bottleneck for exhaust flow and good sound. I'm really pleased with my exhaust sound...reply if you want detail. However, that sound is with all 3". It gives the sound a deeper tone. Do yourself a favor and just get the 3" pipe with the Catco 3" universal cat. You won't be disappointed.

sounds like thats what i'll be doing. i was trying to continue my never ending quest to be cheap. Owell, i guess it'll probably be cheaper to just buy the univeral 3" in/out anyway...

thanks for all your help
