Louder V8?

I have a V8 right now, with stock exhaust. I would like headers, but I also want the deep loud rumble from the exhaust. What do I need to do this? I know it can be done with a cam, and slowing the idle timing, but I am looking for a quicker fix. Would headers get this solution, or do I need a cam to get it?

muffler is going to do you the most. headers without changing you muffler is not going to give you too much sound difference. you can gain horspower and sound with a cam but stock intake and exhuast limits how big of cam you can actually use. alot of people over cam their engines. actually lose low end power and some of their ET.

If your looking for a quick fix, and spending minimal money-just go to the local parts store buy 2 90 degree pipes, one long straight peice, a short Y type peice and 2 Flowtech Terminator dual resonated tips, and a few clamps. Run open exhaust with a nice rumble at all times, sounds great with even my 305. Should wind up spending about 60-70 bucks total

series 40 or 80 flowmaster muffler should to do the trick, lose the cat if you want some real sound from it, if you lose the cat its gonna sound a little more like an older muscle car but its all in the muffler
