id suggest trying the same muffler and removing the cat. maybe even get headers. but, if you really want to get a different muffler...i would suggest a hooker aerochamber for an aggressive sound.

I have headers and I have to have a cat. Would a high flow cat make it sound any different?

Okay I would like some opinions on this...
I have a 350 that should have around 425 hp, I have read that 3 inch exhaust is good for up to 450 hp. when putting the engine in i will be getting rid of the 1 5/8s headers and putting on 1 3/4 i plan on using a 100 shot of nitrious. couldnt i just put cutouts in a custom y pipe to open when I want to use the nitrous? I guess i have never really seen anyone put 2 cutouts in the y pipe has this been done? if so pics? Thanks

Why do you want two? Just curious??
86FyrBrd just posted the pics of the cut out he got that's electric. You flip a switch and you have an open exhaust. IIRC, they cost about $140.
It will help if you have one. More air in means more air out, especially with nitrous. Even if you only got one with a cap you have to remove manually, I'm sure it'll help.

I listened to your clip, it does sound like what i want. Maybe my cat is clogged up or something, i dont know. maybe a high flow would solve all my trouble. Thanks

well, i guess you could use a 3" exhaust system with 425 hp, but i definitely would NOT recommend it. theyre ideal between 250 and 300 hp approximately. for the best performance at full throttle at 425 hp on a 355, id suggest dual 3" or single 4". mufflex sells a 4" system for our cars that looks pretty high quality.
