Hooker 1 3/4 SC long tube issues--->
Anybody else have clearance issues with the #8 primary and the lower control arm mount? The header is hitting right at the spot where the slip joint is.
These headers are trying my patience

I put mine on this past weekend. Only problem I had was that I had to relocate the knock sensor to the drivers side, and I had to order a mini starter. Everything else went together and fit great. Took about 1.5 hours with the motor in the car.

I recently helped a friend trial fit his Hookers on his new motor in his GTA before he fired it up and we ran into the same exact problem,they hit in the same spot.He is going to notch the control arm mount to gain clearance.That is the only way i can see doing it unless you want to dimple your headers,which i would think is impossible caused of the slip tube fit on that tube.Hope this helps somehow..

Yeha mine is up against that same place but i had enough clearance to slide my tube in. Oh yeah i can't use this Mufflex Y-pipe with my Steve Spohn torque arm so i'm going to sell it. Any takers??? It's the dual three inch into a 4 inch outlet. TPI-Y on their website.

Glad I'm not the only one
I just spent about 3 hours taking the motor back out (twice) and clearancing the mount. I was kinda weary about cutting any metal out for strength reasons so I used a torch and a big effing hammer!! First time I did it, I didn't beat on it enough so I had to pull the engine back out to hit it some more. As it stands right now I have about 1/16 of an inch clearance....it will probably rattle a bit but I can always dimple the tube slightly in the area if it does. What a PITA
