It's not going to make it like 10 times louder...but..yeah....if will make it a little louder....I had the dual cat set up on my 91 Z28...had them both removed and it made it quit a bit louder.....anybody elese have any input??

just put on a straight pipe instead of the cat. Gutting the cat will cause a lot more restriction to the exhaust. The exhaust is heading trough the y pipe and it hits the gutted converter (much larger area) then it has to reduce back down to the exit size. This will take power, either go with pipe or get a good high-flow cat. Some high-flow's claim to have the smae sound and no cat. Thats what i will be doing when my ehaust is redone. Goodluck

Well what to do with the cat is a question whether you have smog or not. If smog isn't a concern I suggest to just get rid of the cat all together. Take it off and replace where it was with exhaust tubing. If you have to pass smog then get a hi-flo cat. A hi-flo cat will make the car noticably louder. If you really want a loud car go for a cutout

im just going to buy a 2 foot pipe and put that in place of the cat and when i have to go for emissions i'll just put the cat back on.
