Headers!! which kind. so many to choose from?
ok i was looking through JEG's for ideas of brands (i get all my parts through a local performance place) and i saw that DYNOMAX, HEDMAN, EDLEBROCK all have 1-5/8" headers,
and then i remembered SLP with there 1-3/4" headers.
what should i buy. i am gonna need these soon, since my car is coming out in the next month or so!!
what sounds better, also quality, and price.
and install. should i pay them to do it. or tackle it myself.
my plans are for Victor Jr aluminum heads, Edlebrock base and runners (or the ASM siameized). what do you think i need. and i want it to sound good.. and i dont want the LT headers. too much work and i want ground clearance. so i am set on the y-pipe design.
also i have a magnaflow muffler that i am putting on. just the muffler, not the cat-back.

sounds like your only logical choice are the 1-3/4" SLPs. There is a GP going on. I saw a thread about it yesterday.

is that a good deal.. because in summit they are 479.99 i think. but i dont know if that includes the installation kit. just curious! thanks.
and does anyone know if the ypipe works with SFC's, thanks!

u know what i saw a set of tubular headers from pacesetter at J.C whitney for $368.00. Thats a great price for 85-92 camaro/firebirds and Ceramic coating is included with the price above, and its emissions legal. ------------------

:Yeah its not a chevy but damn how many 71' dusters have u seen in the streets.
those ones for JC whitney are WAYYYY too small for what he wants to do. The primaries are only 1-1/2" That would be good for a mild 305 or a super mild 350 that just wants better gas milage. Or the ceramic coated ones could be used to replace a rusted stock manifold system in places where the roads get salted.

From what I've heard, there may be a small problem with the y-pipe and SFC's, atleast for SPohn's anyway, but apparently isn't a big deal and you just cut the SFC a little and it should fit cool

ok now my deal is. should i stay with the dual cat setup. or go with the single cat setup to clear the SFC's better. i wont have cats so it wont mess up the flow right! just curious! thanks everyone. i need to know all of this soon!
