Hooker Super Comp. Long tubes

I recently installed a set of long tubes on my car. The driver's side isn't too bad, they actually fit nicer than some brands of shorties. The passenger side is a different story. I need a mini starter, and the knock sensor had to be relocated. But, I installed long tubes on a friend's GT Mustang, he gained about .25 over his previous shorty headers. It went from a best of 12.959 to 12.707. MPH went up 1.7 also. I'm hoping for similar gains on my own car.

I just installed a set on my 383 - '87 IROC. I hope to get a small gain too in HP and torque with the long tubes. My passenger side was tight too near the frame of the car. I have no knock sensor, carbed car. I reused my stock '87 starter too w/o any problems. I had room to wrap it too with the high temp starter wrap material.

Which y-pipe did you use? Which cat back? Maybe share your exhaust system design!

Did you use the Model 2210's?

Thanks!

Actually, I am fabricating a true dual exhaust system. It utilizes Spin Trap oval exhaust tubing for ground clearence. As far as ride height, I have Eiabach pro Springs on my car. It is pretty well slammed. I used the 1&3/4" primary headers, with a 28" Length, & 3" collectors. But, I'm ditching the stock starter. It is right up against the collector of the passenger side header.
